Introduction to SPIRE Spectroscopy: a one day meeting in London
This one day workshop introduced the capabilities of the SPIRE Fourier Transform spectrometer as demonstrated during the first year of Herschel operations. During the day we gave examples of the different observing programmes that are possible with the instrument, discussed the achievable sensitivity and observing strategies and promote its use in the upcoming call for Herschel Open Time. The day consisted of a series of presentations by instrument and data processing experts as well as by users illustrating the instrument capabilities from guaranteed time programmes. The instrument and data processing experts were available to answer questions and advise on the best way of executing your proposed observing programme and discuss possible science programmes.

| Interactive to look at individual proposals for observing programmes . please come prepared. We will break into smaller groups dedicated to different topics (faint sources, line confusion, mapping etc) if this looks like the most efficient way of proceeding. If not then we will take the topics serially in plenary session. |
